Paris Saint-Germain have officially announced the arrival of Keylor Navas from Real Madrid, in a move that sent Alphonse Areola to the Spanish capital. Navas flew to Paris in recent hours to meet with PSG’s officials, and now he’s officially part of the French side after signing a four-year deal.

After a couple of months full of rumors and speculation, Navas has finally left Real Madrid, a couple of days after Zinedine Zidane claimed that he ‘wouldn’t imagine’ the club without the Costa Rican goalkeeper. Well, now things have to be different for the Frenchman, as Keylar has departed, in a move of around 15 million euros.

In exchange, Los Blancos receive Areola, who showed good things with Les Parisiens but failed to convince Thomas Tuchel that he was the perfect player to be PSG’s starting goalkeeper for this season. The Ligue 1 champions lost both Gianluigi Buffon and Kevin Trapp this summer and were linked with a move for Milan standout Gianluigi Donnarumma at some point.

Ultimately, out-of-favor Navas was the one picked to take the job at the Parc des Princes. Albeit he lost his position on Madrid’s starting lineup, Navas is a very reliable goalkeeper, who can protect his side at any cost.

Talking about his signing, he said, as per Standard Sports:

“I’m really excited to sign for Paris Saint-Germain. After my experience in Spain, I’m coming to France with high hopes.

“Paris Saint-Germain is a very prestigious club in Latin America and I am keen to be part of the adventure that started several years ago.

“I will do everything I can to help PSG win new titles, bringing all my experience and professionalism.

“And I will also try to win the hearts of the Parisian fans, famous throughout Europe for their passion.”

This is a great addition for PSG, who have been linked with Inter’s outcast Mauro Icardi in recent hours. They could end the transfer window landing two big stars.
