The annual installment of NBA 2k has just released, and excitement for the game is still as fresh as ever. As usual, though, not everyone is happy with certain details of the game.
Damian Lillard is in that camp. In a chat with PEDESTRIAN.TV reporter Matt Hopkins, Lillard explained the issues with his character on the game.
“I’m fine with it. I’m 93 right? That’s cool. Room to improve,” Damian Lillard said. “They got my haircut kinda wrong, they don’t have my gear on how I wear it. They don’t really give you, like, the details.”
He is fine with the rating — but the likeness? It’s off. And for a game such as NBA 2k that prides itself on the details, that’s a pretty unfortunate mistake.
It could be worse, though. The 92 rating Lillard holds in 20 is the highest it has ever been and stands as the ninth-highest in the game and the second-highest point guard behind Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry.
So while Dame’s character might be missing a few details, 2k certainly showed an appropriate level of recognition towards the superstar — and it is well earned. Last season, Lillard averaged 25.8 points and a career-high 6.9 assists as he led Portland to the 3rd overall seed in the West.
