Philadelphia 76ers power forward Mike Scott caused a stir on Sunday and not precisely for good reasons. The 31-year-old player was involved in a fight with some Philadelphia Eagles fans.
Although one imagines all these fans root for the Sixers, they didn’t attack Scott because of basketball, but because of football. The reason? Scott attended the Eagles season opener against the Washington Redskins wearing the rival’s colors. This went viral on Sunday, with people reporting that several fans went after Scott, but the player didn’t back down.
Now, TMZ released new footage of the altercation, in which we can see Scott exchanging punches with the Eagles’ fans. In the video, Scott is running away from angry fans and throwing punches before the rest of the people decide to break the fight.
“We are aware of the situation and are in the process of gathering more information. We will have no further comment at this time.”
Just before he left to the game, one fan reached out to Scott on Twitter and warned him that not wearing Eagles colors would create a problem. Scott responded saying “What’s gon happen.”
