Real Madrid aren’t ruling out a move for Paul Pogba, and they’re studying options to finally land the French midfielder. Los Blancos are reportedly planning on using one of their best midfielders to ease negotiations with Manchester United.
United reportedly made a €75 million offer for Toni Kroos this past summer, and that option could now be used in a swap deal for Paul Pogba next year. Kroos, who joined Madrid from Bayern Munich in 2014, has made 236 appearances for the club while winning plenty of titles including a La Liga and three Champions League trophies.
Kroos has been one of the best players in his position in recent years, but that doesn’t mean Madrid can’t offload the Germany international. According to BBC Sport, Toni signed a new long-term deal with Real Madrid in May, but that was apparently after Manchester made an attempt to sign him.
As per Bild, and re-reported by the Mirror, via Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda, contact was made between the two clubs over Kroos and United offered €75 million for him. Even though that move wasn’t completed, Madrid are now willing to part ways with Kross and could use him in a possible swap deal for long-time target Pogba.
We still have a lot of time to see if this deal comes through. At this point, it’s very unlikely to see United and Madrid doing business midway through the campaign, but next summer we could be seeing Real finally signing Pogba. There is clear interest from both sides, and maybe there could be a desire to sit down and discuss a possible deal involving the two stars.
