James Harden recently stirred the pot with his comments about the 2019 MVP award, claiming he felt he should have won the prize instead of Giannis Antetokounmpo, but the media changed the narrative and hurt his case.
This has brought up a lot of reactions, but it looks like Harden is getting some support from NBA players. One of those is Nick Young, who had some words for the media, claiming the treatment towards James Harden and Russell Westbrook was unfair.
Don’t know how JH wasn’t back to back MVPs and how the media get bored with RW averaging a triple doubles 3 yrs in a row this is crazy

“Don’t know how JH wasn’t back to back MVPs and how the media get bored with RW averaging a triple doubles 3 yrs in a row this is crazy,” he wrote on Twitter.
Over the past couple of seasons, Harden has been one of the best offensive players in the league. Last season he went through a 32-game streak scoring 30 points, taking the Houston Rockets to get to the playoffs as the fourth seed in the West. Unfortunately, he failed to win his second consecutive MVP award, with the media voting for Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.
On the other hand, we have Russell Westbrook, a guy who hasn’t stopped recording triple-doubles in the last three seasons. Ever since he won the 2017 MVP award, Russ hasn’t been considered as part of the conversation since all those numbers never translated into good performance with the Thunder in the playoffs.
Now, these two guys will be joining forces in the Houston Rockets, with everybody wondering how they’re going to manage their ball hogs personalities to lead the Rockets to win the championship. Harden has stated they’ll ‘figure it out’, but these two have a lot to prove, and the only way all this criticism ends is if they finally win a title.
