It looks like the history between Real Madrid and Paul Pogba is not finished. The La Liga giants are reportedly keen to sign the Frenchman, even if they don’t have Zinedine Zidane as their boss.
It was reported over the summer that Zizou wanted Real to bring Pogba, even stating he felt the club didn’t do enough to purchase the World Cup winner. Now, Los Blancos are ready to go for it, either with Zidane or without him.
According to Calciomercato, Madrid are keen to purchase Pogba regardless of whether they have Zidane or not as a manager. They add that they will still pursue Pogba especially if they appoint Massimilano Allegri as their new boss.
Zidane was the subject of several rumors in recent days, with some people placing him out of the club after the 3-0 loss Madrid suffered against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. Jose Mourinho and Allegri sound as the two top candidates to take over Madrid if they part ways with Zizou.
Real haven’t started the season the best way, and their lack of creativity on the midfield has played a major role in that situation. They were linked with several midfielders over the summer, but they couldn’t sign anybody in the end.
Well, not for too long, as they look ready to finally persuade Manchester United to let the Frenchman go next summer. The only thing left to discover will be if Pogba’s manager in Madrid will be Zidane or someone else. This was one of the biggest sagas of the summer, and that drama doesn’t seem to be over yet.
