Although Dwyane Wade looks very happy with his life after retirement, the future Hall of Famer has been linked with a return to the NBA on more than one occasion, with the shooting guard shutting down those rumors.
However, according to Yahoo Sports NBA insider Chris Haynes, Wade could be making his return to the league but some things need to happen before he does so. Haynes believes Wade could return if the Heat are in contention late in the upcoming season.
“Dwyane Wade looked good last year,” Haynes told Brandon Robinson of Scoop B Radio. “I’ll say this: I think if Miami is in contention, and I don’t know that can happen without Chris Paul, but if they are in contention, I can see a scenario where they can lure Dwyane Wade back. I think if he did come back, it’d be back in Miami. I think there’s a good chance he would come out of retirement at some point.”
Flash just retired at the end of last season, but just like Haynes noted, he looked good during his final season in the association. Wade has stated that he will continue working out with LeBron James, leading some people to speculate he could be getting ready for a possible return.
Last season he averaged 15.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists in 72 games while shooting 43.3 percent from the field, 33.0 percent from beyond the arc and 70.8 percent from the free-throw line.
Miami will have Jimmy Butler as their biggest figure next season, but if Butler can take the team to compete in the East, we could see Wade coming back to the American Airlines Arena.
