Ben Simmons has been working on his game this offseason, trying to improve his level to finally take the Philadelphia 76ers to transcend in the playoffs. Simmons has been trying to polish the one thing that can make him an even better player: shooting.

He’s gotten to work on his 3-pointers this offseason and the result we have seen look very promising. The Australian point guard has been a reluctant 3-point shooter, taking 11 threes in his rookie season and eight the last one, being unable to make the first one in his career.

Trying to show his confidence and how good or better he feels taking 3-pointers, Simmons made some sort of promise during the Sixers’ media day:

“If it’s open, I’ll take it,” said Simmons, according to Kyle Neubeck of The Philly Voice.

The 23-year-old has been more criticized for not trying to shoot 3’s instead of his lack of accuracy. Yet, he’s trying to get better in that facet of his game, which could take him to become one of the best players in his position.

Of course, it’s not like he’s going to become a Ray Allen or Stephen Curry this season, but attempting more shots from beyond the arc will surely help him to gain more confidence in his long-range shots. He knows that adding this weapon to his arsenal can take him to the next level, and we can’t wait to see what he’s going to do this upcoming season.
