It’s not a secret that Liverpool count with one of the most dangerous attacks in football, but that doesn’t seem to be enough for Jurgen Klopp. The Reds have been trying to bolster their offense in the last couple of seasons and this one won’t be the exception.
That’s why they have placed their attention in one of the most promising players in Europe right now, Brazilian winger David Neres. Neres has been great for Ajax, helping the team to have a great campaign last season, showing all his quality every week. He was linked with a move away from Amsterdam during the summer, but that never materialized.
Now, however, Liverpool are ready to strike a deal for the talented player trying to improve their offense, which already counts with the likes of Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah, and Sadio Mane. Even though these three are world-class players, Liverpool lack alternatives in the case one of Firmino, Mane or Salah gets injured.
Right now they are in a good position to dethrone Manchester City as the Premier League champions, having an advantage of 5 points over the Sky Blues. Calciomercato report that Klopp is considering a move for Neres to provide some depth to his attacking options. Last season was marvelous for this guy and his team, who came back to the headlines after several years of being in the shadows.
Ajax and Neres went on to win the 2018/19 Eredivisie title, racking up 86 points, and the Brazil international scored eight goals in 29 appearances. He’s proven his quality with the Lancers, and if it’s not Liverpool, another team will surely get his services next summer.
