The Philadelphia 76ers have a lot of ground to make up if they want a chance to take the East crown. After witnessing the departure of several key players, the team brought in some guys whose fit is more than questionable.
They’re young, unproven, and will have trouble scoring from the outside this season.
One thing they do have going for them? Height. The Sixers are insanely tall, and it gives them several advantages on the court against their foes. In a list released by Derek Bodner, he reveals that the team’s averaged height (without shoes) to be over 6’9″.

The supersized Philly lineup has an average height of 6’9.5,” putting them near the top of the league in that category.
This “official height” movement is an effort by the NBA, to be honest, and fair with the information teams release about their players. In the past, teams around the league made it a habit to add or subtract a few inches from a players’ official height.
That is being restricted, and for the first time, we are seeing things for what they are. In Philly’s case, it happens to be an insanely supersized lineup full of towering individuals.
