Real Madrid have apparently set their sights in one Manchester City star to replace out-of-favor Gareth Bale. The Welshman has been unable to have an important role with Los Blancos and Zinedine Zidane is said to be keen to offload the winger.
According to reports from Spain, Real are eyeing a move for City’s Gabriel Jesus to replace Bale. Despite failing to sell Bale during the summer, Zidane remains keen to part ways with the former Tottenham Hotspur star and has already identified his potential replacement in Jesus.
This is not a shock seeing that the Citizens were actually offering Jesus to Bayern Munich in an attempt to persuade the German giants to pursue a different player instead of Leroy Sane.
Don Balon reports that Madrid see Jesus as the right player to take over from Bale once he leaves the club. The report notes that Madrid officials are well aware of how many goals they are losing per season, following the exit of Cristiano Ronaldo in 2018.
They signed Eden Hazard from Chelsea this summer, but the Belgian forward has yet to start delivering the way he did with the Blues. Besides, Luka Jovic needs to step up, as Karim Benzema remains the only reliable source of goals for the team.
Sharing touches with Sergio Aguero has made things very difficult for Jesus at the Etihad Stadium, and now his future is up in the air. Pep Guardiola likes the Brazilian player, but the starting position in the lineup belongs to Aguero, at least until he decides to leave the Sky Blues.
Maybe a change of air is what the Brazilian needs and Madrid appear to be a great option.
