The NBA preseason is underway and we have already seen what material some teams are bringing this upcoming season. One of the biggest performances we saw in recent days was the Los Angeles Lakers taking care of the Golden State Warriors, showing some good things for a preseason match.
Following a great offseason, the Lakers are expected to do good things this year, which is why some fans and analysts have picked the Purple and Gold as favorite to win the Larry O’Brien trophy.
ESPN’s Jalen Rose discussed this matter on Monday’s edition of his ‘Jalen & Jacoby’ podcast, predicting the Lakers are going to win the gold this campaign.
“Here is what I will say about the Lakers: other top teams are gonna struggle with all season, height, that’s what they have. LeBron James, the primary ball-handler, 6’9”, Anthony Davis, is gonna be getting up 25 and 12, 7 foot, Dwight Howard, JaVale McGee, 6’10”, 7 foot, like they have so much height and athleticism, I think that’s gonna be an issue for opponents. They look so much bigger than the Warriors, this might be a problem when they play against the Clippers, as well.
“Now, of course every team has strengths and weaknesses but your compatibility issue works really well for LeBron in his 17th year, deferred to Anthony Davis, who’s never won a championship. (…) It’s gonna be a terrific season for the Lakers. After watching them, officially, they became my favorite to win it all this year.”
It’s not a surprise that people start to see the Lakers as a better team now following a great victory over the Warriors. AD and Bron are ready to take the Purple and Gold to win the NBA title this season, and we’re already watching the things they can do together on the court.
