The Hong Kong protestors did not take kindly to comments made by LeBron James on Tuesday.
“I don’t want to get into a word or sentence feud with Daryl Morey but I believe he wasn’t educated on the situation at hand, and he spoke. And, so many people could have been harmed, not only financially but physically, emotionally, spiritually. So, just be careful what we tweet and what we say, and what we do. Even though yes, we do have freedom of speech, but there can be a lot of negative that comes with that too.”
Long story short, James refused to speak in support of the protestors — and the community was livid. The folks in China went so far as to burn his jersey in disgust.
Today, LeBron was asked his thoughts on the whole situation.

Needless to say, tension is rising between the community and Bron. His shocking stance on the situation with China has people furious, including a large audience of people trying to create change in Hong Kong. His support is quickly dropping.
His latest comments have only added fuel to the fire, and it doesn’t seem likely that he will back-track on this particular stance.
It serves as yet another bit of fallback from the international crisis.
