Real Madrid and Manchester City are ready to go at it next year for the signing of one of the most promising and exciting players in the world, as reports suggest they have a good chance to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe.
According to Diario Gol, the France international is said to have snubbed an extension to his current deal which expires in 2022, with Real Madrid one of his main suitors. This comes after Don Balon revealed Manchester City are also following the young striker to replace the likes of Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus at the Etihad Stadium.
City have been great in England, no doubt about it, but they could use a player who knows what it takes to win and has done it with Paris Saint-Germain and his national side, winning the 2018 FIFA World Cup. If they land Mbappe, they could get a little bit extra in the Champions League, an elusive tournament for the Citizens.
But, Kylian has been a long-term transfer target for Los Blancos, who are reportedly ready to pursue a deal for the French forward in the summer of 2020. He’s expected to fill Cristiano Ronaldo’s shoes at the Santiago Bernabeu following all the problems the club has had in front of the rival net.
With these claims of his reluctance to extend his contract with Les Parisiens, both the Sky Blues and Madrid were handed a transfer boost in the race for Mbappe. The 20-year-old attacker looks set to be one of the stars of his generation and not only Madrid and City will be after him if he does not commit to a new PSG contract soon.
