The LeBron James-Enes Kanter beef has taken yet another dimension after James’ recent comments on Daryl Morey and his infamous tweet supporting the Hong Kong protests. The Boston Celtics big man sent a short but clear message that was clearly aimed in James’ direction.

“I don’t want to get into a … feud with Daryl Morey but I believe he wasn’t educated on the situation at hand and he spoke,” LeBron told reporters earlier this week, raising a variety of reactions around the league.

Following this, Kanter took on Twitter on Wednesday to take another shot at James, expressing how he feels about this whole situation.

“I’m MORE than an Athlete,” Kanter said, in a shot at LeBron’s slogan.

It’s not a secret that the big man has long been an advocate for human rights in Turkey, and he’s faced some ramifications because of it, as well as some members of his family. He sent out another tweet to remind everybody of the struggles that he and his family have faced in recent times.

For James, he stated he won’t be discussing this topic any longer, following all the criticism he received for his initial comments.

“I won’t talk about it again,” James said via USA Today. “I’d be cheating my teammates by continuing to harp on something that won’t benefit us. We’re trying to win a championship. That’s what we’re here for. We’re not politicians. It’s a huge political thing. But we are leaders and we can step up at times. I’m not saying at this particular time but if you don’t feel like you should speak on things, you shouldn’t have to.”

Kanter and his Celtics just finished their preseason games with a 118-95 victory over the Cavs on Tuesday night. Now they’re ready to kick off another season when the C’s face the Philadelphia 76ers on October 23.
