Manchester United have been linked with several strikers over the last few weeks, and it doesn’t look like the Red Devils will be exempt of these rumors in the upcoming months. Now the Englis giants are reportedly interested in Bundesliga star Timo Werner to boost their attack next summer.

Werner has become one of the finest strikers in the world thanks to his performances for RB Salzburg. He joined Die Roten Bullen from Stuttgart in 2016 and has since made 125 appearances for the club, scoring 69 goals and providing 28 assists. However, he signed a new deal until 2023, which may perhaps make a transfer difficult for United, or at least mean potentially paying a high fee for the striker.

This season Timo started as good as usual, taking his side to be just one point behind the leader of the Bundesliga, Borussia Monchengladbach, in a season that appears to be more hard-fought than the last five or six.

Werner has been in an incredible form for Leipzig, netting eight goals and providing an assist in 11 appearances across all competitions. The Express report that Werner’s fine form has led to interest from United, who could certainly do with an upgrade on the struggling Marcus Rashford.

The 23-year-old was linked with other big clubs in the past, including Bayern Munich and Liverpool, but now United are the ones linked with a move for the talented frontman. According to Transfermarkt, Werner is currently valued at €65 million. The Express also note that Leipzig will try to retain the player at least until next year, so the Red Devils will have to wait until next summer to try to make a move for this guy.
