After 7 seasons, there isn’t a team in the league who wants Dion Waiters.
According to what one NBA executive told Sean Deveney, the Heat have yet to generate interest in Dion Waiters after placing him on the trade block nearly a year ago.
“They’ve been trying to trade him since last Christmas,” one GM told Heavy.com. “No one was trying to take him on then. After this kind of thing, it would be really hard to take him on now. He has had this kind of junk attached to him just about his whole career.”

The suspension isn’t going to help that: “He has had this kind of junk attached to him just about his whole career.”https://t.co/0Qu8vXRDpn

After apparently aiming a fit of anger towards coach Erik Spoelstra on the bench during Miami’s final preseason game against Houston on Friday, Waiters was issued a one-game suspension by Pat Riley and the organization for “unprofessional conduct.”
Unfortunately, this type of ruckus has become an annual tradition for the veteran shooting guard, calling into question his future with the Heat and in the NBA.
Waiters has two years remaining on his contract, at more than $12 million per year. While that contract in itself is not untradeable, it is unlikely the Heat want to include enough picks necessary to get something done.
Waiters averaged 12 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.8 assists on 41% shooting last season.
