The Neymar saga was arguably the biggest story of the past summer transfer window, even though nothing changed for the Brazilian and he stayed put in Paris. Now, the 27-year-old has addressed his summer, which was full of rumors and speculations regarding his future.

He’s trying to recover the respect and appreciation he had in Paris Saint-Germain supporters after his return to Barcelona failed to materialize. The Brazilian has admitted that he wasn’t happy back then but insists he is happy now and wants the ‘love’ at Parc des Princes to return.

Neymar joined PSG from Barcelona back in 2017 in a controversial €222 million move that shattered the world transfer record. Two years after that, his stint at the French capital hasn’t been the most desired, with the player suffering several injuries and starring scandals of the pitch. Last summer everything pointed out that Barcelona were making an effort to re-sign Neymar, but that never came to fruition.

Two months after the transfer window shut down, the former Santos star has made it clear that he’s fully committed to his side and is ready to help Les Parisiens win the Champions League this campaign.

“I’m happy. I’m a player [for PSG], a professional and I’m going to give my best for Paris – 100% and I will try to help Paris win, especially the Champions League,” Neymar told Otro.

He then explained how he feels getting booed by his own supporters, but reassuring he believes ‘love will come back’.

“It’s normal, I understand what [the fans] are feeling,” he explained.

“I’m trying to understand what they are thinking, but I ask them to understand me too. When you’re not happy, whatever work you do, you try to leave, to work elsewhere, to change jobs. That’s what I wanted to do, but finally I stayed. As I said, I’ll do my best.

“It’s part of the relationship, we fight, then we make peace and love comes back.”

Following a very entertaining offseason, Neymar is ready to help his side reach the glory in France, and especially in Europe. There is still time until the summer, but some people are already claiming he won’t play another season with the French champions.
