Andre Iguodala is currently a member of the Memphis Grizzlies, but it looks like his days in Tennessee are numbered. According to ESPN’s Jackie MacMullan, the swingman will eventually wind up in a Lakers uniform this season, as long as he’s waived by his current team.
During an episode of “The Hoop Collective Podcast,” MacMullen stated that four players have told her Iguodala will be a Laker before this season ends:
“He’s going to the Lakers. I’ve had four different players tell me that. Every player I talk to tells me that.”
This could be a great addition to the Purple and Gold, who could use his defensive talents to fight the Los Angeles Clippers in that item. However, the Grizzlies are reportedly holding out for now, as they’re looking trade partners for Iguodala.
MacMullan’s words come days after rumors surfaced stating that Iggy was a ‘virtual lock’ to sign with the Golden State Warriors next season.
He landed in Memphis this summer in the move that allowed the Warriors to sign D’Angelo Russell, but it looks like he won’t last that long with the Grizzlies. It remains to be seen whether or not he ends up landing in the Lakers, but this is something that has been around over the last couple of months. It looks like they have a chance to get the 3x NBA champion.
