Ever since he took over AS Monaco’s starting striker spot, Kylian Mbappe has been one of the most prolific scorers we’ve seen in decades, and he looks like the kind of young talent that could turn a whole team around.

That’s why Paris Saint-Germain didn’t hesitate to make a huge investment and acquire his services, and they’re not likely to let him go any time soon unless another team breaks the bank and doubles down that payment.

However, former Brazil striker Rivaldo thinks he’s never going to fulfill his true potential in France, and urged him to make a move to England or Spain if he wants to be just like Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.

“There’s no doubt Mbappé has the qualities to become one of the best in the world, as he is playing great football and has huge potential. He would be able to develop his talent by playing La Liga or the Premier League. Ligue 1 is clearly below the competitive level of Spain or England. With all due respect to PSG, I believe he must leave for a Spanish or big English team in the future to confirm himself as the heir to Messi or Ronaldo,” Rivaldo told Betfair, as quoted by The Express.

Moreover, the former Barcelona striker went on to admit that it would be difficult for the Blaugrana to make a run at him because of his huge prize tag and talent, shutting the door on any potential hope of a blockbuster signing:

“The best players need to play in the best leagues. But I think it would be tough for Barcelona to sign him in the future, as he is very expensive due to his young age, world champion status and natural ability that makes him one of the biggest prospects in the world of football. If Barca had so many problems in trying to sign Neymar, just imagine how much PSG would be asking for the Frenchman, so it’s almost impossible to bring this excellent player to Catalonia at the moment,” the Striker concluded.

Mbappe has always been closely tied with a move to Real Madrid, as he grew up idolizing both Cristiano Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane and even worked out at the team’s facilities when he was just a teenager, but Los Blancos will have a tough time trying to get him out of Parc des Princes.
