The last time we saw Jose Mourinho on a managerial role, the Portuguese had a bad moment with both Chelsea and Manchester United. The Red Devils were his last club, who sacked him last December to put Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Now, it looks like the Portuguese boss could return to the Premier League, as there are two teams interested in his services, regardless of the way his last two clubs performed with him at the helm. The Sun reports that Mourinho wants a return to the Premier League, with Tottenham and Arsenal thought to be his possible destinations in England.
Mauricio Pochettino is a target for both Manchester United and Real Madrid, which means Spurs could be a destination for the 56-year-old. However, Arsenal are also suggested as his next club as Unai Emery can’t get the job done at the Emirates.
Both Tottenham and Arsenal have lost against Liverpool in recent days, increasing their respective crises, prompting players to ask for changes to turn things around. The so-called ‘Special One’ wouldn’t be the worst candidate to take over at Arsenal, as he’s the type of boss that can print some mental strength into a club that’s been wandering around for quite some time now.
This is a challenge that could help Mourinho recover the pedigree he had during his best days. He won the Premier League at Chelsea and delivered the Europa League for United, so it would be a huge feat if he could deliver similar success at a third club on the island.
Mou has also been linked with a return to Real Madrid given the struggles of Zinedine Zidane at the Santiago Bernabeu. It remains to be seen where he’ll end up, but right now, Mou is getting involved in more and more rumors.
