The NBA has finally determined a punishment for Joel Embiid and Karl-Anthony Towns in the aftermath of their on-court scuffle Wednesday night.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, each player will be handed a two-game suspension.

Ben Simmons was determined to be a “peacemaker” in the process and was therefore spared backlash from the league. For the pair of star centers, Charania added that the suspension was not only as a result of their on-court altercation but also “their continued escalation following the incident.”

For Embiid and Towns, though, a two-game suspension will likely not mark the end of a rivalry that appears to have gotten personal. Following the game, where both players got ejected, they took to social media to trash-talk each other and continue their hostile exchange.

Embiid will lose roughly $379K as a result of the conflict while Towns will lose roughly $376K, according to ESPN’s Bobby Marks. The 76ers will play Portland and Phoenix over their next two games while Minnesota faces Washington and Milwaukee.
