Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is apparently getting ready for life without one of their biggest stars, Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian has been great for Liverpool but now doubts have raised over his future in Anfield, with the Reds and their boss have started to work to get a proper substitute for their star striker.
Klopp is reportedly eager for the club to sign Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze amid doubts over Salah’s future. The Nigerian forward has proven to be a great player in his time in La Liga and could be a fine signing for Liverpool to strengthen in attack if they end up losing Salah shortly.
It was recently reported that the Egypt international could be edging towards a big-money move to Real Madrid, with Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho lined up to become his replacement in Anfield. Don Balon, though, suggest that Klopp is a big admirer of Chukwueze, who he thinks could be the next Sadio Mane for the current Premier League leaders.
Chukwueze has demonstrated he has the potential to have a terrific career playing at the highest level, which has prompted his club to tie him down to a contract with a buy-out clause of £86 million in it.
Of course, that is a big number, so Liverpool will have to offload some players before making a move for Samuel. It would be clever if they sell Salah to raise the funds to sign a younger player that could help them in the long run.
Liverpool fans won’t be pleased to see another of his players going to play with Madrid, as the club has lost several stars over the last couple of seasons. Yet, that might change when they find that Chukwueze is one for the future.
