Manchester United are ready to step up and pursue one of the most in-form players this season in Europe. The Red Devils have struggled to find a proper solution to the departures of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez and now Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side might be working on a big move that would solve a lot of problems.
United are reportedly considering triggering the release clause of Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez in the January transfer window. They really need to add more firepower upfront and this guy could be the best solution for the English outfit.
He’s enjoying a terrific moment with Inter and his national team, as the 22-year-old has seven goals in 13 games for the Nerazzurri in all competitions this season, and has also netted eight goals in just 11 caps for Argentina in 2019.
According to Don Balon, this has led Manchester to make Martinez one of their targets, though it could mean paying as much as £95 million to meet his release clause fee.
Seeing his age, this would be a risky move for Lautaro, but he has proven in Italy that he’s ready to take the big stage following a great tenure with Argentinian side Racing Club. Martinez has settled pretty quickly in Italy and now a move to the arguably best league in the world could be the next step in his career.
We still have to wait and see if Manchester decide to go for this move and pay so much money for the South American striker at this stage in his career. This is a player with great potential and if he keeps developing his game, Martinez will become one of the most coveted players in European football.
