Real Madrid have apparently found a new gem in Brazilian wonderkid Rodrygo Goes, who has started to show big things for Los Blancos in recent matches. Goes introduced himself to the elite on Wednesday, scoring a ‘perfect’ hat-trick against Turkish side Galatasaray in Madrid’s win 6-0.

Rodrygo has been labeled as the ‘new Neymar’ as he followed the Paris St-Germain star’s footsteps by moving from Brazilian club Santos to Spain. Before his move to Madrid, Rodrygo was a complete stranger in Europe, but the 18-year-old made sure to enchant everybody with his displays at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Ever since he made the switch to the Spanish capital, he has scored five times in his first six appearances for the club in all competitions.

“Hearing the Bernabeu singing my name is a dream come true,” Rodrygo said. “I’m so happy, it has been a joyous night but I must try and stay calm.”

He opened the score for the club in the fourth minute with his left foot following a pass from Marcelo. Three minutes later they repeated the formula, as Goes headed Marcelo’s cross to become the first player to score twice in the first seven minutes of a Champions League game.

Sergio Ramos prevented him from scoring a hat-trick when the captain stepped up to score a penalty. Ultimately, Goes finally completed his ‘perfect’ hat-trick as he poked in with his right foot to cap a demolishing 6-0 win.

With this performance, he became the second-youngest player to score a Champions League treble, behind only Real legend Raul. During the first days of his stay with Real, he was criticized for his performances, but now that he’s started delivering, it looks like Madrid have found their next star.
