Cristiano Ronaldo will reportedly sit with Juventus officials to discuss his reaction to being substituted against AC Milan last Sunday when he returns from international duty. It hasn’t been the best days for the Portuguese in Turin; he was similarly replaced just days earlier in the win over Lokomotiv Moscow in the Champions League.
When Juve were tying against Milan last Sunday, Cristiano was substituted by Maurizio Sarri at the 55th minute of the game. In the end, this was the best decision for the team, as Dybala would go to score the winning goal.
Ronaldo, though, was seen heading straight down the tunnel after being taken off, and the Daily Mail note that Sarri played down talk of any possible fight with the striker and insisted that he is carrying a knee injury.
Yet, that wasn’t a problem for the 34-year-old, who scored a hat-trick for Portugal midweek. It remains to be seen if that injury is as serious to cause him problems in Juventus.
According to The Mirror, CR7 will hold showdown talks with Juventus chiefs when he returns to Turin, with sporting director Fabio Paratici and vice-chairman Pavel Nedved concerned over his attitude last week.
Even if it results it was nothing, sitting down and discuss what’s bothering both parties is the best thing to do right now. Whether it is an injury that’s been affecting Ronaldo’s game in recent times, he hasn’t been in the best form lately.
Knowing him, he’d be eager to leave all of that behind and recover his best form with the reigning Serie A champions.
