Internazionale manager Antonio Conte is under police protection after receiving a threatening letter with a bullet.
Reports in Italy state the Inter boss was sent an anonymous letter that contained a bullet and a number of threats. After this, police are said to be investigating this incident and will test the envelope for fingerprints in a bid to discover the identity of the person.
Following this, Conte has increased the security at his family home and at the club’s training ground. They’re also set to analyze video surveillance in the case of another delivery. Extra surveillance cameras will be installed in and around Inter’s base.
The consensus here is that it could be an attention seeker and these threats are not serious, but both Conte and the club are said to have been warned to be vigilant. This is not the first time we see this situation in Italy, as several political figures in the boot have been sent similar letters through the post.
The Italian boss joined Inter this summer and so far things have gone well for them. Right now they rank second in the Serie A table, one point behind Juventus. From Inter’s 12 league games, they’ve collected 31 points.
Inter are also third in their Champions League group, behind Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund as they enter a battle to qualify for the last-16 round.
