In light of their 109-104 victory over the Knicks, Philly fans are celebrating a great and long-awaited achivement.
After over 5,000 minutes, two seasons, and 171 total games played, Ben Simmons finally made a 3-pointer. It marks the first time in his NBA career he has connected on a shot from beyond the arc.
Because Simmons is such a well-rounded player, his inability to shoot has been one of his biggest criticisms since his debut in 2017. Needless to say, his make from downtown on Wednesday night was an encouraging sight for many and sparked a flurry of reactions on the internet.

The 76ers have cooled off a bit after starting the season with the NBA’s best record. And while their losses over the summer will prove to be a challenge, the leadership of Embiid and Simmons should be enough for the Sixers to make a deep playoff run.
If Simmons’ three is any indicator as to how his game is developing, the team is set to trend upwards.
