With the departure of Mauricio Pochettino, many have predicted a group of players will follow his footsteps and look for a new team. One that’s been thought to be making his way out of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is Harry Kane, one of the most sought-after strikers in the world right now.
Jose Mourinho has just taken over at North London and some people are convinced that he will persuade key Tottenham figures to stay put and not look for a new side.
For instance, Jamie O’Hara has made a bold claim about the England international by saying he will stay with Mou to win the Champions League.
“I think this is a positive thing for the outcome for Harry Kane. We have been talking about Harry Kane leaving Spurs to win something,” the former midfielder told talkSPORT.
“There’s all this talk of him potentially going in the summer to Man City to go and win trophies.
“We’ve now got a manager who can win trophies, so why would he want to leave?
“I think we’ve got more chance of winning the Champions League than the Premier League. With Jose Mourinho in charge, with one of if not the best striker in Europe and if he brings a couple of big signings in, which I think [Daniel] Levy will allow him to do, Harry Kane can be at Tottenham and win a Champions League.”
Kane is 26 years old and is at the stage of his career where the need for trophies increases, more knowing the great talent he has that deserves greater reward than it has achieved so far.
This comes after a report from the Times suggest Mou sent a special text message to Harry Kane after replacing Mauricio Pochettino as Spurs boss. Trying to get off to a good start, it seems Mourinho is eager to be positive and sent star striker Kane a message promising to help him win some trophies.
