Stephen Jackson has opened up about his long-time feud with former San Antonio Spurs teammate Tony Parker. Jackson admitted that he still holds a grudge against Parker to this very moment.
Jackson had two separate stints with the Spurs. He first joined the team during the 2001/02 season, his second year in the league and Parker’s rookie year. Jackson’s time with San Antonio was short, though, as he parted ways with the team after winning the title in the 2002/03 season.
Speaking to Arash Markazi of the Los Angeles Times, Stephen explained exactly why he currently still has some beef with the Spurs legend.
“I don’t have a reason to talk to Tony Parker and I don’t want to talk to Tony Parker,” Jackson said. “My beef with Tony Parker is a basketball beef. I didn’t like the teammate he was. Tony would look me off on purpose. I don’t want to disrespect him as a man but I had a problem with him on the court.”
Jackson would rejoin San Antonio for two more seasons when his career was finishing. He returned between 2011 and 2013, but as it turns out, the second time was not good for his relationship with Parker.
