Liverpool haven’t had the most entertaining transfer windows in recent times, but the Reds are preparing to spend big money, if necessary, at the turn of the year. For instance, boss Jurgen Klopp is more than willing to spend big in January in a bid to finally seal his side’s first Premier League title.
Klopp hinted he has no reservations to spend money if they right players become available when the transfer market reopens in January. This isn’t something new, as two years ago he disbursed £75 million to capture the services of Dutch defender Virgil Van Dijk from Southampton in January.
That move has paid off for the Reds, who now are seen as the biggest favorites to win the Premier League title one season after they won the Champions League for the sixth time.
Speaking ahead of his side’s clash with Everton in the Merseyside derby on Wednesday, the Liverpool manager confirmed the club’s pragmatic transfer approach.
“It’s not important, for us it’s always the same, we don’t speak about it, we’re pretty much always ready,” Klopp told the Metro.
Among the candidates to find their way to Anfield, Jadon Sancho seems to be the biggest name of the list since relations appear to have broken down between the England star and Borussia Dortmund. According to the Mirror, Liverpool are considered the favorite to strike a deal for the youngster, with his asking price is reported to be in the region of £100 million.
Besides, they have been linked with two Olympique Lyonnais figures, Mathis Ryan Cherki and Memphis Depay, but right now Klopp and his pupils need to remain focused on their big target, which is winning the Premier League title.
