Kevin Garnett minced no words in talking about his encounter with LeBron James during the 2010 postseason.
Though the Celtics failed to bring home the prize that year, they made sure to beat James and the Cavaliers that year in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. And, according to former Celtics superstar Kevin Garnett, it was enough to break him.
Kevin Garnett says the Celtics broke LeBron in 2010
“We didn’t give a f*ck about LeBron. We didn’t fear LeBron and we didn’t think he can beat all five of us.”

Of course, it wasn’t the first time LeBron had encountered, and lost, to that Celtics team. In 2008, that Boston squad beat him and the Cavs in the Semifinals as they went on to win the chip.
As for whether or not KG’s claim about “breaking” him is fact, the evidence doesn’t exactly support that theory. Sure, he went to the Heat and joined a superteam, but was not that Celtics team also stacked?
James went on to win not one Championship, but three, and now has a case for being one of the greatest players who ever lived.
It’s probably more accurate to say that KG’s comments are more out of rivalry and spite than they are about the actual truth. But, hey, to each their own, right?
