It looks like Barcelona are finally putting their hands on one of their biggest targets for the past couple of years. The Blaugrana were heavily linked with a reunion with Neymar this offseason, but a deal was never completed.

It’s curious to see that he wanted to leave Barca to escape Messi’s shadow at the Camp Nou in his quest for the Ballon d’Or, only to find himself playing second fiddle to Kylian Mbappe instead. Neymar hasn’t had the best time in Paris ever since he made it from Barcelona, and he’s made it clear that he wants to leave the Parc des Princes.

Although he stated he’s happy with Les Parisiens, it’s hard to believe he actually wants to continue as Mbappe’s wingman. That led the Brazilian to be involved in plenty of rumors over the years, starring a big saga this summer. Ultimately, he stayed in Paris, but that doesn’t seem to be the end of this situation.

He’s still in the French capital, but reports from Spain have indicated the circus could be about to start all over again. According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are planning their signings in January and provided that Neymar keeps playing at a high level, they would make him a priority for the summer of 2020.

Further, they suggest that he is still determined to make the return to Barcelona, and his price tag will be €180 million. It remains to be seen if Barcelona can afford that price without selling players first, but seeing their eagerness to reunite with the forward, they could do anything to land him.

Paris Saint-Germain have a huge financial muscle, so money is not a problem for them. However, they might be at the point where it’s best just to let him go and get rid of the distraction.
