VAR struck again during Tottenham Hotspur’s boxing day game against Brighton, ruling out a Harry Kane goal for the most absurd reason.
Spurs thought they had opened the scoring in the 24th minute against Brighton, but VAR disallowed Kane’s strike on review. The reason why? The forward’s armpit was in an offside position which prompted VAR to scratch his effort off.
Winks ➡️ Kane ➡️ Goal ➡️ No goal

Obviously, this raised a lot of eyebrows around the league.
VAR need fuckin sorting out yerno. Kane’s armpit is offside so 1. How is that I clear offside? 2. How the fuck would his armpit be scoring anyway. Proper needs sorting out. #TOTBHA

That Kane goal shouldn’t be ruled out. What advantage does he gain from his armpit being offside? You can’t even score with it!

In the end, Brighton took the lead through Adam Webster who powerfully headed home in the 37th minute. Kane would go to tie the game in the second half before Dele Alli completed the comeback for the Lillywhites.
In the case that the goal was allowed, Kane would have tied the record of the most scores on Boxing Day with his double.
