Luka Doncic has quickly become the league’s latest superstar. He’s putting defenders on skates, leading the Mavericks towards playoff contention, and doing it all at the tender age of 20 years.

Notably, that has forced a lot of people to make comparisons between Doncic and former legends of the game, with some even claiming he has shown glimpses of what Larry Bird was able of doing.

However, if you ask Steve Kerr, Doncic has a bit more of Stephen Curry than any other player in the league. But, far from being the greatest shooter to ever play the game, Kerr thinks it’s a matter of attitude, as he told Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News:

“Playing with a smile on your face is something relatively unique. Most players are locked in and pretty serious. I watched Luka the other night against San Antonio, his first game back, he was out there smiling and laughing,” Kerr said. “It is similar to Steph and I think fans love that, being able to see players enjoy themselves,” he concluded.

Truth to be told, Doncic’s charisma has earned him a lot of fans throughout the first couple of seasons of his NBA career, and he does always play with a smile on his face like he was hooping on his local gym.

Just like Curry, Doncic has the potential to change the way the game is played. He’s a generational talent that’s taken the league for assault and nobody seems to be safe from his offensive touch.

Doncic has a Curry-ish ability to make something impressive and extraordinary look like just another one of his crafts, and you just know there are going to be at least a couple of highlights once the game is done.

So far, he’s almost averaging a triple-double, and he recently became the only player in NBA history to post multiple 30 point triple-doubles in 30 minutes or less. He’s just 20 years old and his sophomore season isn’t even done yet.
