We could be watching major changes in Barcelona in the future, and one of those might involve their manager Ernesto Valverde. Despite having won the La Liga title, plenty of fans aren’t happy with Valverde’s tenure at the Camp Nou, increasing the rumors of a possible exit for the Spaniard tactician.

Domestically, they’ve been great, but the biggest debt of Valverde and his pupils is the Champions League, a tournament that wasn’t very candid with them in the last two seasons. It looks like Valverde’s future is on the line right now, and Barcelona have already identified potential replacements for him.

It was suggested that River Plate’s Marcelo Gallardo, RB Leipzig’s Julian Nagelsmann and even Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp were on the club’s radar, but a new name has surprisingly emerged in recent hours.

Former Barcelona ace Thierry Henry could reportedly be considered as an option for the Barcelona job provided that Ernesto Valverde’s contract isn’t extended by the club.

As noted by Sport, Barca and Valverde have an option to extend his current deal for another 12 months when it runs down in June, so they have a big decision in their hands in the coming months.

Even though Henry isn’t the most experienced boss of all, and his current side is MLS’ Montreal Impact, the club considers the Frenchman fits the mold in terms of understanding the culture and demands of Barcelona while he is close with sporting director Eric Abidal.

It seems like Henry has a big chance to take over at Barcelona, but they need to make a decision on Valverde first. If they part with the Spaniard, then an agreement has to be reached to release Henry from Montreal.

This is a long shot, for sure, but Henry could become a genuine candidate if Valverde departs.
