Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best players in the world, arguably a top 5 player in the history of the game, but even the best ones can’t go against father time. The Portuguese has struggled in recent times to have a good form, leading fans to think that age has finally caught up with him.
He’s taking some criticism for his performances at Juventus this season, but he’s actually still having an incredible year. He’s scored 10 goals in 14 games which almost any player would take. The thing is, we got so used to his incredible standards, that seeing him play like a good player is actually weird.
Former Juventus boss, Fabio Capello, has spoken out about what he thinks is happening with CR7 and the things he has to do to improve his game. Capello spoke with Gazzetta Dello Sport, and Jmania has looked at some of the remarks he made.
Speaking about Ronaldo the former Juve Manager said the following:
“Ronaldo in trouble? He is the best center forward in the world. Nobody like him knows how to exploit all the balls possible in the penalty area. He no longer has the sprint and dribbling of the past: he has to play in the box, as the English say.”
It’s not the first time Capello has said this and nobody can say the opposite. During his first days of career, Ronaldo was one of the quickest players in the world and a great dribbler. Now that he’s older, he doesn’t have the same speed, so Capello thinks he may need to reinvent himself in some ways.
Nobody doubts his ability in front of the net, but now he needs to get the ball in dangerous areas to deliver for Juventus.
