You can say it was a terrific night for Sadio Mane on Tuesday, as the Liverpool star was honored for the great year of 2019 he had. The Senegal star was named the African Player of the Year for his efforts this past year, joining big figures on that list, including Samuel Eto’o and Didier Drogba.
Mane looked absolutely delighted as he accepted his award, as he simply couldn’t wipe the smile from his face. He scored 30 goals in all competitions, leading Liverpool to have a terrific season that ended with the club lifting their sixth Champions League trophy against Tottenham Hotspur.

Truth to his style, Mane showed his humility thanking everyone he wanted to mention, including his club teammates and his compatriots who have supported him throughout his career with a special mention for his village where his dream began.
It was a very magical night for him, who looks set to help Liverpool add more trophies to their cabinets, as well as individual honors for him. Liverpool continue as one of the biggest forces both in England and Europe and it’s only a matter of time before we see them winning more championships.
As for now, they only have to enjoy how happy Mane is that he just won an award that not everybody can win. Based on the comments we see on social media, Liverpool fans can’t be happier about it.
