Juventus are set to take on Roma this Sunday trying to remain atop Serie A standing. The Bianconeri are going at it against Inter to win their ninth consecutive Scudetto and the capital team is a big obstacle in their goal.
Cristiano Ronaldo appears to be ready to continue his animosity with Roma next Sunday, as the Portuguese carries history with La Loba. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has a long-rooted dislike of the Giallorossi dating since his days with Manchester United.
Back in 2007, United faced Roma in the Champions League with the English side winning the second leg of their quarter-final with a smashing 7-1 result, going through 8-3 on aggregate. Ronaldo’s experience that day put him off the Italian side.
“When it was 6-0, they asked me to stop, an opponent begged me to stop dribbling,” he claimed in December 2018, via the Daily Express.
“Others threatened to hurt me.
“Roma? There is no player with whom I would exchange a shirt.”
Juventus haven’t had the best season so far compared to the things they did in the last eight campaigns. Former Juve boss Antonio Conte has led his Inter team to the top of the table in his first season in charge at the San Siro.
Cristiano hasn’t had the best year, either, as he’s struggled to keep the good numbers he had with Manchester United and Real Madrid. Still, the forward is working to get things back on track and his visit to Stadio Olimpico is a great chance to do so.
