Liverpool are unstoppable. That’s undeniable. Yet, the Reds somehow find new ways to surprise everybody every week. Jurgen Klopp has done a terrific job with this team, as they look ready to finally win the Premier League title with their impressive run.
Liverpool have won 22 of their 23 PL matches, only losing points to Manchester United in a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford. This is an incredible record that continues after their 2-1 win over Wolverhampton on Thursday. Roberto Firmino gave the Reds a big win, keeping Liverpool’s 16-point advantage at the top of the table.
With this result, this LFC side have already won as many games as Man Utd did when they won the title as part of their historic treble-winning year 21 years ago. That United team was great, they did something historical, but there is no way they could win the Premier with the same 79 points they made in 1999.
Manchester City won it on 100 points in 2017/18, while they retained it on 98 points last term, with Liverpool finishing second on 97 points.
Moreover, the Merseysiders also joined an elite club with their victory over Wolves. This win makes it 40 league games unbeaten for Liverpool, meaning they’ve become only the fifth team in English football history to go on such a long run without defeat. They have won 35 and drawn five of those games, joining some big names in this elite club.
40 – Liverpool are only the fifth team in English Football League history to remain unbeaten in 40+ consecutive matches (W35 D5), after Nottingham Forest (42, 1977-78), Arsenal (49, 2003-04), Chelsea (40, 2004-05) and Huddersfield Town (43, 2011). Unrelenting. #WOLLIV pic.twitter.com/TIzfJsWWBG

The Reds are now level alongside Chelsea, who went 40 games unbeaten under Jose Mourinho, while also closing in on that legendary Arsenal ‘Invincibles’ team.
There is no doubt that this team is doing some impressive things on the pitch. Liverpool could win the title in record time, and there is nobody who can stop them from doing so.
