Lionel Messi has revealed his top five players in the world, excluding himself and Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo. They both have been the rulers of football for about 15 years now, so it would be unfair to have them in consideration.

Messi told Spanish Newspaper, Marca his top five in the world if he had to exclude himself and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The six-time Ballon D’Or Winner recently picked up his latest trophy to finally eclipse Ronaldo as the player with most Ballon D’Or’s in history. The Argentinian star believes he’s still in the top two with himself and revealed how hard it was to see Ronaldo beating him to trophies while they were both in the same league for nine years.

“It was nice to have Cristiano Ronaldo in La Liga because of the prestige he gave him, although it was hard to see him raise titles.”

Still, even though he didn’t name himself or CR7, he went on to name his top five players.

The players being: Neymar, Sergio Aguero, Kylian Mbappe, Eden Hazard, and Luis Suarez.

“[But] excluding him and me, the best players in the world are Mbappe, Neymar, Hazard, Suarez and Kun [Aguero].”

Three of these guys have played with Lio; Neymar and Suarez in Barcelona, while Aguero has been his international teammate since they were very young. However, Mbappe and Hazard haven’t shared touches with La Pulga yet, with Messi still praising the pair for the game they’ve been displaying in the last couple of seasons.
