Manchester United just signed Bruno Fernandes, one of their biggest targets for some time now and they’re apparently ready to continue bringing big names to Old Trafford. The Red Devils keep struggling to find regularity this season and they know changes need to be made to improve their level.
Regardless of if they keep Ole Gunnar Solskjaer or find another boss, United are set to land two stars to take their game to the next level.
According to The Mirror, they still have Kalidou Koulibaly at the top of their transfer targets list and will resume their efforts to sign him in the summer.
Solskjaer has failed to lure the Senegal international to Old Trafford, but the club has an ace under the sleeve. The United boss is reportedly willing to make Koulibaly the top-paid player at the club should he join.
He will also have to disburse a hefty transfer fee, with the center-back rated at around £90 million. Koulibaly is one of the top-rated defenders in Europe and understandably has attracted a lot of interest from other clubs such as PSG, Chelsea, and Real Madrid.
Moreover, that’s not the only piece they will try to sign again. As reported by the Evening Standard, they are reportedly ready to rival Chelsea for the signature of Borussia Dortmund starlet Jadon Sancho.
United will need to make a big effort to take their place at the head of the race for Sancho though will have to take their big-money January purchase into account. They just signed Bruno Fernandes from Sporting, totaling in at £68million overall for this deal.
Sancho has been one of the best young players in Europe, and Manchester will have a big competition trying to get his signature.
Only time will tell if the Red Devils can pull off this deal. Maybe the signing of Fernandes brings some hope for them, but landing these two would be huge for the English giants.
