Liverpool are having a terrific run this Premier League season and nobody doubts it’s only a matter of time before we see Jurgen Klopp’s side lifting this trophy for the first time in their successful history.

Last year they were only one point behind Manchester City in the table, but this campaign the Merseysiders made sure to leave no chance for their rivals. City are their closest pursuers this term, but there isn’t much they can do to steal the trophy from Liverpool’s hands.

In fact, their own boss Pep Guardiola had to admit there is virtually no chance for them to ruin Liverpool’s quest for the longed-for prize. Following a painful loss to Spurs on Saturday, the champions are 22 points behind the runaway league leaders.

There are only 13 games left only, so Liverpool themselves have yet to admit the race is over, with Guardiola being forced to say it out loud.

The Reds have gone undefeated after 25 games, only dropping points in a draw with Manchester United in October, when they needed a late Adam Lallana equalizer to keep up their undefeated record.

“We are far away, they are unstoppable, they’ve won a lot of points, we dropped points in games similar to today, like when we played at Anfield. Now is target for the competitions and qualify for the Champions League next season,” Guardiola added after conceding there is no chance for City to win the title.

If somebody needed any confirmation on whether this race is over, you have Guardiola admitting City has nothing to do against Liverpool.
