After six subpar seasons in Minnesota, Andrew Wiggins embarked on a new chapter yesterday as he laced up for the Golden State Warriors.
In his debut, he put up 24 points, 3 assists, and 5 steals on 66% shooting. And while his performance during the game was encouraging, it was a comment made about him after the game that really caught fire in the community. Speaking on Wiggins’ debut, Kerr boasted on how nice it was to finally have a player to throw against LeBron who could match up with him “physically.”

It’s true that Wiggins is younger, faster, and more athletic than anyone they have on the roster, maybe even more so than Kevin Durant. For what it’s worth, LeBron was held to 22 points on 41% shooting and the Dubs only lost by 5 points to the best team in the West.
It’s a small sample size, but if tonight showed anything, it revealed the potential Wiggins has with the Dubs. He won’t be a superstar, but he is an ideal fit on both ends of the floor for them.
It’ll be even more interesting to see how he fares when the Splash Bros. return next season.
