Something weird is happening in Philadelphia. In the midst of a concerning stretch of basketball, Joel Embiid took to Instagram, where he posted a rather cryptic message.

It had a lot of people in panic at the time, as it seemed as if Jimmy Butler was recruiting Embiid to Miami. It didn’t take long, however, for Embiid to put the noise to bed. Shortly after the Instagram post, he tweeted out his support for his team and city.

Though the Sixers may not be shopping Embiid, there seems to be an increasing likelihood that they consider trading him. According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, opposing GM’s are actually preparing for the possibility that he becomes available sometime in the near future.
As a two-way superstar big man, Joel Embiid is one of the best in the league. He can stretch the floor, make shots in the post, rebound, block shots, and do just about anything he needs to do to help his team win.
This season, he is averaging 22.8 points, 12 rebounds, and 3.2 assists on 46% shooting.
And while his future in Philly may be uncertain, his loyalty to his team, his city, and the process seems as strong as it was on day one.
