Amid the NBA suspension, some players have made the headlines thanks to their statements. The Los Angeles Lakers’ sharpshooter Danny Green has been the last name to make some bold comments during the NBA hiatus.
The shooting guard had a conversation with Bleacher Report’s Taylor Rooks, revealing some secrets about why the Purple and Gold are so good this season. Of course, having two monsters like LeBron James and Anthony Davis helps them, but there is more about this team that Green believes is the key to their success.
The Lakers were seen as favorites to win the title before the start of the season. Even though they had some bad moments through the campaign, they found their shape and were seen as the best team in the league before the suspension.

“Our leaders. Our two stars,” Green said when asked about what makes these Lakers so special. “Also, I think our depth, that we have so many guys that can play and are playing well, that we don’t have enough minutes to play in a game. It’s not about us. It’s about the team. So we don’t really care about the minutes. As long as we’re winning and playing well, you know guys are fine with it.”
He also described how it is to play with Anthony Davis and LeBron James, stating the pair are great teammates who ‘embrace’ the rest of the team.
“I love it,” Green said. “They embrace each other. They’re the best of friends. They hang out with each other and also embrace us.”
Before the NBA suspended the season, the Lakers were having a terrific moment, beating the Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Clippers in back-to-back games, with Bron and AD having great performances, supported by the role players.
The NBA is reportedly planning to return in the summer; if that’s the case, the Lakers will have an even better case for the championship. They were already great; these months resting their players could be what they need to win the 17th NBA title in their history.
