Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns isn’t living the best moments right now, as the coronavirus has affected somebody close to him. The Dominican-American announced on social media that his mother, who was diagnosed with the coronavirus, is in a coma, connected to a ventilator.

KAT posted an emotional video on Instagram and Twitter to warn as many people as he can to take this illness with the seriousness it requires.

“WE CAN BEAT THIS, BUT THIS IS SERIOUS AND WE NEED TO TAKE EVERY PRECAUTION.

Sharing my story in the hopes that everyone stays at home! We need more equipment and we need to help those medical personnel on the front lines. Thank you to the medical staff who are helping my mom. You are all the true heroes! Praying for all of us at this difficult time,” was the caption of his Instagram post.

The coronavirus has stopped the world and its effects on the economy and the lives of people around the world will be hard to forget. However, it looks like some people still need to learn that this is something serious and needs to be managed with delicacy.

The NBA itself has been affected by this disease. After Rudy Gobert tested positive for the COVID-19, the league suspended the season. Following that, several players tested positive for the illness, too, including Kevin Durant and Donovan Mitchell.

This is something serious and people need to start listening to the authorities, stay at home and practice social distancing.
