The NBA is currently going through an unprecedented hiatus after Rudy Gobert tested positive for coronavirus, as Adam Silver looked to take care and preserve the health of all the players, fans and the NBA community.

However, that doesn’t mean basketball has fully stopped, as several NBA superstars have partnered to celebrate an NBA 2K tournament to keep fans entertained during the hiatus.

Ok, we’re well aware of the fact that it isn’t exactly the same, but NBA 2K has been our biggest ally over the last couple of weeks, with some franchises even simulating games through their platform.

So, you’d have to believe the betting favorite to win this tournament would either be a guy with a lot of free time on his hands, or a high basketball IQ, and unsurprisingly, Kevin Durant happens to check both boxes.

Thus, Sports Betting Dime considers Durant is the favorite to win the players’ NBA 2K tournament with +500 odds, closely followed by Trae Young (+600), and Deandre Ayton (+650).

The other NBA players participating in the tournament are Donovan Mitchell, Hassan Whiteside, Devin Booker, Andre Drummond, Michael Porter Jr, DeMarcus Cousins, Montrezl Harrell, Rui Hachimura, Zach LaVine, Derrick Jones Jr, Domantas Sabonis, Harrison Barnes, and Patrick Beverley.

This will certainly be a nice entertainment for basketball fans around the world desperate to watch the ball bounce on the hardwood again.

The NBA, on the other hand, is still looking at its options as they try to find a way to resume the season without putting anybody at risk.

However, the NBA’s hands will stay tied for as long as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to force entire countries to go impose a quarantine.

Sorry guys, but don’t sweat it, basketball will be back sooner rather than later. In the meantime, let’s watch and see if Kevin Durant is as good in videogames as he is in real life.
