Year after year people from all over the world wait anxiously until the new NBA 2K video game’s release. Moreover, one of the most exciting times of the year is when the franchise finally announces the athlete that’s going to be on the cover.

This year won’t be the exception to the rule. In fact, this seems to be the most expected version of the NBA 2K saga thus far, considering all the things that have happened over the course of the year and how much the game has improved lately.

And now that Anthony Davis took it to his Tik Tok account to announce when we’ll know the cover athlete for the game, the rumor is that we’ll have not one or two but three players in the cover.

Some people speculated that those athletes could be Damian Lillard, Luka Doncic, James Harden, Ben Simmons, o Kawhi Leonard. However, we’ll show you the list of the three perfect candidates for next year’s NBA 2K.

Anthony Davis was already featured in this year’s cover and he didn’t disappoint in the court. He’s become the go-to-guy for the Los Angeles Lakers and the team finally put an end to a seven-year playoff drought amid his arrival. He’s also an MVP and DPOY candidate.

Also, him being the reigning cover athlete, it’ll make sense to see him featured in this year’s edition, although not at the center of the cover. Sort of ‘passing the torch’ kind of thing. God knows he’s done more than enough to repeat as the cover athlete.

Ok, Zion Williamson may be the most underachieved player to ever be featured on an NBA 2K cover. He’s also one of the biggest worldwide sensations, the reigning 1st overall pick and the main star on the video game’s teaser for this upcoming edition.

It’s pretty clear that Zion is a once-in-a-lifetime kind of talent. He’s already secured a huge bag and hasn’t even played 30 games thus far, but given the chance, he’ll prove all his doubters wrong and will be an MVP candidate in no time.

1. Kobe Bryant

And, obviously, Kobe Bryant should be featured at the center of this upcoming edition of NBA 2K. I mean, he’s one of the greatest athletes of all time, a legend on and off the court, and one of the most influential people of his generation.

Bryant’s life was lost on a tragic helicopter accident on January 26 and the NBA 2K community took it up to themselves to pay respects to the Black Mamba. Perhaps they don’t want to make money out of the image of a late legend, but if someone deserves this tribute that’s definitely Kobe.
