Derrick Rose and his Detroit Pistons couldn’t make it to the bubble after the league only invited the Washington Wizards to compete for the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference. D-Rose is taking advantage of this time off and he went to add more ink to his body, getting five new tattoos in recent days.
The youngest MVP in NBA history already had a big collection of tats. Yet, when you like tattoos, you know it’s never enough and Rose is the perfect example. He took his tattoo artist from Arizona to get five new pieces ahead of the new bubble the league will assemble for the 8 teams that weren’t invited to Orlando. His tattoo artists, Jose Guijosa, who also goes by the name ‘Killer Tattoo’, shared a video with Rose and his five new tats.
Rose got all his 10 fingers tattooed with a letter of ‘I’ll show you’ in each finger; he also got ‘DZY’, the name of his new sneakers in collaboration with Kanye West; one piece of Mansa Musa, a historical political figure; one of the ancient Egyptian conception of the soul and the word ‘paideia’, which means ‘education’ or ‘learning’ in classical Greek and Hellenistic.
The former Chicago Bulls star is making it clear that he’s proud of his achievements and his beliefs with these pieces.
This season, he averaged 18.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game for the Detroit Pistons, while shooting 49.0 percent from the field and 87.1 percent from the free-throw line.
Rose is trying to create something good in Detroit and the team seems to be on the same page. They want to build a competitive team and the veteran point guard is part of their plans.
